    Players from Manhattan, Wamego and Rock Creek selected for 52nd Kansas Shrine Bowl

    The Manhattan Indians, Wamego Red Raiders and Rock Creek Mustangs will be represented in this summer’s Kansas Shrine Bowl. As three local student-athletes were selected Wednesday to play in the 52nd annual all-star game.

    Representing the West All-Stars is Manhattan quarterback and the Centennial League’s offensive player of the year Carter Aslin. Also named an all-state selection, Aslin led the Indians to a 12-1 season and an appearance in the 6A State Championship. This season, he passed for 1,569 yards and 14 touchdowns. On the ground, Aslin had 1,576 yards and 27 rushing touchdowns.

    Wamego wide receiver Jackson Tupps was selected to play for the East All-Stars. Tupps and the Red Raiders finished 9-2 this season. Earning a share of the NCKL Championship. He caught 44 passes for 752 yards and eight touchdowns. Plus, two kickoff returns for a touchdown. All adding up to 1st team all-league and all-state honors.

    Also selected to play for the East All-Stars is Rock Creek offensive lineman Mason Faith. The Mustangs finished 8-2 and earning a share of the NCKL Championship. Faith was named first team all-NCKL and 3A all-state first team by Sports in Kansas.

    The 52nd annual Kansas Shrine Bowl will be played on Saturday, June 21 at Memorial Stadium in Dodge City. Tickets can be purchased at kansasshrinebowl.com.
