Officers filed a report of burglary and aggravated arson in the 700 block of Humboldt Street on January 2, 2025, at approximately 4:59 PM. Officers list multiple victims and are as follows: 70 year-old female, 44-year-old-female, 26-year-old male, 47-year old female, 28-year-old female, 37-year-old male, 38-year-old male, 25-year-old male, and a 17-year old female. Officers report an unknown subject entered the apartment and lit the carpet on fire. Total estimated loss is unknown at this time. Anyone with information can contact Crime Stoppers. Vernon Davis, 25, of Manhattan, was arrested on January 2, 2025, at approximately 8:29 PM in the 1000 block of S. Seth Child Road. Davis was arrested on a Riley County District Court warrant for theft of property or services. Total bond was set at $5,000. Davis was confined at the time of this report.
