Not only was the weekend’s snowfall the second-most in Manhattan’s recorded history, but few other winter storms have even come close.
Winter Storm Blair blanketed Manhattan with nearly 15 inches of snow, a total surpassed only by the 18 inches received on Feb. 27, 1900. However, Kansas Mesonet assistant meteorologist Chip Redmond said according to his records, it’s the first time in more than a century Manhattan has seen more than 13 inches of snow.
“The last time we received that much was in 1913,” Redmond said.
