Update: Winter storm warning issued for parts of Kansas; travel disruptions expected

By KMAN Staff on February 11, 2025 Local News

A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for portions of central, east central, north central, and northeast Kansas, effective from 9:00 PM Tuesday until 6:00 PM Wednesday. Heavy snow is expected, with total accumulations ranging from 5 to 9 inches across the affected areas.

The storm is expected to make roads, especially bridges and overpasses, slick and hazardous, potentially causing difficult travel conditions. Both the Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning commutes could be severely impacted, with blowing and drifting snow adding to the risks.

Residents are advised to prepare by keeping extra supplies, including a flashlight, food, and water, in their vehicles in case of an emergency. For the latest road conditions, travelers should call 511 for updates.
