Kansas State baseball’s Maximus Martin was voted the Big 12 Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday afternoon.

The transfer from Georgia State is the second Wildcat to garner a weekly award, joining left-hander Lincoln Sheffield, who picked up Co-Newcomer of the Week honors last week.

A native of Edgewater Park, N.J., Martin led the way for a Wildcat offense that outscored opponents 28-17 and out-hit opponents 33-25. The junior finished the weekend 6-for-12 (.500) with an impressive 1.404 OPS on his way to earning All-Tournament honors.
