By Mitch Fortner on March 4, 2025 Podcast, Podcasts, Within Reason with Mike Matson

On today’s episode, Mike speaks with local leaders Usha Reddi and Mary Stamey on gender equity in advance of International Women’s Day, which takes place on March 8.

Both guests are involved with the Manhattan branch of the American Association of University Women, where Reddi serves as president. AAUW seeks to address adversity facing women both in the workplace and at home. Reddi and Stamey speak on narrowing the gender pay gap, expanding maternity leave, and the difference between equality and equity.

International Women’s Day is an opportunity to both celebrate women’s achievement and to raise awareness about the discrimination still being faced. For more information on the American Association of University Women in Manhattan, visit manhattan-ks.aauw.net.
