    Riley County’s Anna Lambert named Winter All-Flint Hills Female Athlete of the Year

    RILEY — Before the packed gyms on Fridays, it was just Anna Lambert and her dad, perfecting her craft during the depths of summer. Shot, rebound, rinse, repeat.

    The formula of hard work and family commitment worked for the Riley County senior, and she put together the best season of her high school career this winter.

    Lambert made the jump from 13 points and 5.7 rebounds per game as a junior to averaging a double-double with 17.9 points, 10.5 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game, not to mention 3.4 takeaways on defense.
