Johnson spent one season a Bowling Green. He averaged 16.2 points and 5.0 rebounds in a little over 31 minutes per game. Leading the Falcons in both scoring and minutes played. While shooting an impressive 39.4% from three. Making 78 of his 198 attempts from behind the arc. Johnson also led the MAC with his 89.8% shooting from the free throw line.

Prior to Bowling Green, Johnson spent two seasons at D2 school Wheeling University. Johnson averaged over 21 points a game in 2023-2024. The 14th best scoring average in the nation. Shot 47.2-percent from the field and 44.7-percent from three. Earning Johnson First Team All-MEC, Second Team All-Region and NABC All-District honors.

The announcement of Johnson’s pledge comes after his visit to Manhattan last week.

Johnson follows forward Stephen Osei from Casper College, guard Nate Johnson from Akron, Monmouth guard transfer Abdi Bashir and UNC-Wilmington big Khamari McGriff out of the transfer portal. Plus, Serbian wing Andrej Kostic from the international market and signed high school point guard Exavier Wilson from Columbia, Missouri for 2025.

He also joins returning Wildcats Taj Manning, Mobi Ikegwuruka and David Castillo. He becomes the 10th known player for the 2025-2026 roster as long as big man Tyreek Smith is able to be approved for an extra year of eligibility.
