Hotel evacuated after carbon monoxide leak

By KMAN Staff on May 19, 2025 Local News, Manhattan

Two people were hospitalized after a carbon monoxide incident late Saturday morning at a hotel on Manhattan’s southwest side.

Firefighters were dispatched to the DoubleTree by Hilton, just before 11 a.m. and found elevated carbon monoxide levels inside the hotel.

The hotel was evacuated to allow crews to monitor the atmospheric conditions throughout the building. Riley County EMS transported two hotel guests to Ascension Via Christi and evaluated several others on scene.

The cause was determined to be the pool heater and inoperable exhaust fans for the heating system.
