Manhattan High baseball completed its season sweep against Topeka High on Thursday, picking up the second game of Monday’s postponed doubleheader 16-2 in five innings at Norvell Field.

“It was a great day for us. We got to play some guys that hadn’t had a lot of time, and got them some game experience,” Hess said. “It was just a learning opportunity for us as well, because we’re still trying to work with our lineup…To be able to see as many guys participate as we did is a good thing.”

Coming off a split against Washburn Rural on Wednesday, the Indians (10-4) had a busy week that has propelled them into third place in 6A West. Manhattan owns a 4-4 record in the Centennial League, bouncing back from a 0-2 start to the season against undefeated Hayden.
