The Riley County Police Department on Monday presented three budget options, with the highest being an increase of more than 5% over this year’s budget.

The Riley County Law Enforcement Agency Board, or police board, heard the proposals at its meeting Monday after denying a proposal of more than 7% last month.

The first option, with a budget of $30.36 million would be an increase of 5.49% from this year. The second, with a budget of $30.07 million, would be an increase of 4.49%, and the third option is a $29.78-million budget, would be an increase of 3.49%.
