The Riley County police board on Monday approved 5-1 a budget increase of 5.41% for 2026.
The total increase from 2025 is $1.56 million, for a total budget of $30.34 million. The Manhattan city government pays 80% of the budget, and the Riley County government.
This budget reflects one adjustment from the previous approval last month, the agreement between the Riley County Police Department and USD 383 for cost-sharing of the school resource officer program.
