Riley County Commissioners on Thursday unanimously voted to move forward with an application for a grant program to boost county income.

The commission in next Monday’s meeting will be asked to permit MakeMyMove to apply on behalf of Riley County for the Home in the Heartland grant bringing households from out-of-state into Riley County.

MakeMyMove is a company which facilitates the relocation of existing households to different areas in the United States looking for new residents. Its goal is to relocate 20 households into Riley county, each of which are required to have a minimum household income of $55,000.
