Pottawatomie County commissioners approved an agreement with contractor Bartlett & West to realign the intersection of Flush Road and Noel Road north of Rock Creek High School.
County officials considered four options, ultimately selecting option 2, which aimed at improving sight distance by realigning the intersection to a 90-degree angle and lowering Flush Road by 3 feet at the crossing.
“Looks like option 2 is going to make the most sense,” Commission chairm Terry Force said. “I know it’s the most expensive, and I don’t like that part of it, but that’s to me taking care of the issue that we’ve been trying to deal with.”
The project will cost about $2 million.
