Sen. Roger Marshall said Tuesday the budget bill President Trump signed into law Friday will be “the start of a new golden age of American prosperity.”
Marshall, a Kansas Republican and member of the budget committee, said in a phone interview with The Mercury and KMAN Tuesday he was excited by what his party accomplished with its “big, beautiful bill,” which passed the House on a vote of 218-214 and the Senate on a vote of 51-50.
“It’s an era of prosperity and security,” he said. “Security — we’re going to secure the border, make our military stronger. Prosperity — I think, by the largest cut in taxes in American history, it’s going to put gasoline on the economy, just like it did under President Kennedy, under President Reagan, under Trump 45, that cutting taxes grows the economy, and I’m just looking forward to being part of it.”
