A Manhattan woman was hospitalized following a single-vehicle crash Friday afternoon on K-177 near mile marker 96.

According to the Geary County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred at approximately 3:38 p.m. on July 18. Payton Schlieper was driving a Toyota Prius southbound when she failed to negotiate a right-hand turn onto the westbound ramp of I-70, reportedly due to excessive speed.

The vehicle went through a guardrail and came to rest in a ditch. Schlieper and any additional occupants were transported to the hospital for medical evaluation.

No further details about the extent of injuries were immediately available.
