The RCPD responded to a range of incidents and made two arrests between August 1 and 2.

Officers responded to a non-injury accident Friday night near Madison Road and Madison Creek Road in Riley County. Several larceny cases were reported, including a past theft on Moro Street, another on Poyntz Avenue at ESB Financial, and a past vehicle-related theft near University Drive. Additional calls included battery, disorderly conduct, criminal threats at multiple addresses, and an unconscious person near the Asian Market on Stagg Hill Road. Officers also documented reports involving juveniles, found property, and a sex offense.

Two individuals were arrested. Dermarr Qwandarious McCormick, 25, of Fort Riley was taken into custody early Saturday morning near Abelardo’s Mexican Fresh for driving under the influence and failure to appear in court. His total bond was set at $893. In a separate case, 35-year-old Vladimir Tamayo of Manhattan was arrested Friday afternoon for criminal damage to property in excess of $1,000. His bond was set at $3,000.

Anyone with information about a crime can contact Crime Stoppers. Using Crime Stoppers allows you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
