    Jasmine Nared, 35, of Manhattan, was arrested on August 24, 2025 at approximately 12:26 p.m., in the 1800 block of Cassell Road in Manhattan on a Pottawatomie County District Court warrant for failure to appear. She was issued no bond and is no longer confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of this report.

    Officers filed a report of theft in the 1200 block of 12th Street in Manhattan on August 24, 2025, at approximately 12:17 p.m. A 70-year-old man was listed as the victim when it was reported someone stole his red 2010 Ford Explorer. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $4,000. Anyone with information, contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward up to $1,000.

    Rogelio Juarez Jr., 23, of Amarillo, Texas, was arrested on August 24, 2025, at approximately 10:07 a.m. in the 1000 block of Seth Child Road on a Riley County District Court warrant for aggravated assault, criminal use of weapons and aggravated endangering of a child. This warrant stems from original charges on August 10, 2025. Juarez Jr. was issued a total bond of $100,000 and remains confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of this report.

    Officers responded to the report of an injury crash in the 200 block of Westwood Road on August 24, 2025, at approximately 3:43 a.m. Upon arrival, officers found an unknown vehicle hit a pedestrian, Clark Trawick, 44, of Manhattan. Trawick was transported to Via Christi for treatment of major injuries by Riley County EMS and later transferred to Stormont Vail in Topeka. Further investigation discovered the vehicle was a 2008 Honda Pilot. This case remains under investigation at the time of this report.

    Officers responded to the report of an injury motorcycle crash near in the 4200 block of Kimball Avenue in Manhattan, on August 23, 2025, at approximately 9:24 p.m. Upon arrival, officers found a Harley Davidson ridden by Christopher Howell, 28, of Junction City, had lost control and crashed after going through water in the roadway. Howell declined treatment by Riley County EMS.

    Officers filed a report for attempted aggravated robbery in the 1100 block of Bluemont Avenue in Manhattan, on August 23, 2025, at approximately 5:07 p.m. A 21-year-old woman was listed as the victim when it was reported a 40-year-old man tried to steal her purse before running away. Officers later filed a report for domestic battery in Manhattan on August 23, at approximately 5:19 p.m. A 75-year-old woman was listed as the victim and a 40-year-old man was listed as the suspect. James Moore, 40, of Manhattan, was arrested on August 23, at approximately 7:20 p.m., in the 2300 block of Cheryl Terrace in Manhattan, for attempted aggravated robbery and domestic battery. Moore was issued no bond and remains confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of this report.

    Officers filed a report for domestic battery in Manhattan on August 23, 2025, at approximately 1:16 a.m. A 58-year-old woman was listed as the victim and a 63-year-old man was listed as the suspect. Richard Santiago, 63, of Manhattan, was arrested on August 23 at approximately 1:39 p.m. in the 100 block of Seth Child Road for domestic battery and interference with a law enforcement officer. Santiago was issued a total bond of $5,000 and is no longer confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of this report

    Kenneth Scott, 64, of Manhattan, was arrested on August 22, 2025, at approximately 11:10 p.m., on a Riley County District Court warrant for probation violation. Scott was issued no bond and remains confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of this report.

    Lataija Scott, 29, of Manhattan, was arrested on August 22, 2025, at approximately 4:11 p.m., on a Geary County District Court warrant. Scott was issued a total bond of $250,000 and is no longer confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of this report.

    Chad McCandless, 33, of Manhattan, was arrested on August 22, 2025, at approximately 5:32 a.m., on a Jefferson County (Colo.) District Court warrant. McCandless was issued no bond and remains confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of this report.
