    Riley County Police responded to more than 20 incidents over the weekend, including a fight, a battery, child abuse and multiple theft cases.

    Among the calls, officers responded to an injury crash early Sunday at Denison and Kimball avenues, a reported assault on Kearney Street, and a domestic disturbance at an apartment on Tuttle Creek Boulevard.

    Eight arrests were made during the reporting period. Those included 38-year-old Nikita Miranda Brook Akbar of Manhattan, arrested on charges of child endangerment and driving under the influence. She was taken into custody Saturday evening at Dollar General on Tuttle Creek Boulevard.

    Other arrests included 41-year-old Jessica Ann Scism of Marysville, jailed on multiple drug charges following a traffic stop at Tuttle Creek Boulevard and Madison Road, and 33-year-old Alec Michael Horton of Lioti, arrested on suspicion of battery after an incident at Aggie Lounge.

    Police also arrested individuals on disorderly conduct, probation violations and outstanding warrants.

    In total, 23 incidents were logged and eight arrests made during the weekend.
