Officers responded to a report of an injury accident at approximately 4:22 p.m. on March 9, 2026 near Casement Road and Hayes Drive. Upon arrival, officers found a 2026 Chevy Colorado driven by Lily Dorio, 19, of Manhattan, crashed into a 2021 Kia Sorento driven by Kaleigh Evans, 30, of Junction City. Evans was transported to Via Christi Hospital by Riley County EMS for injuries. Dorio was issued a citation for failing to stop at a stop sign.
Officers filed a report of criminal damage to property at approximately 2:52 p.m. on March 9 in the 300 block of Brookvalley Drive. A 75-year-old woman was listed as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect had thrown rocks at her vehicle, damaging the windshield, another window the driver’s door. The total estimated loss associated with tis case is $1,000. Anyone with information, contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Dwayne Wright, 52, of Olathe, was arrested at approximately 1:15 p.m. in the 1000 block of S. Seth Child Road on a Riley County District Court warrant for failure to appear. This arrest stems from original charges of criminal possession of a weapon. Wright was issued a total bond of $30,000 and remains confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of this report.
