    Wabaunsee girls’ tennis wins 1st regional in school history

    Wabaunsee tennis is headed to state for the first time as a full team after all six Chargers qualified in Friday's regional meet in Topeka. Courtesy photo

    Wabaunsee girls’ tennis dominated the field over the weekend, winning their first regional in school history, finished first and second in doubles and third and sixth in singles on Saturday at Cair Paravel Latin School in Topeka.

    The Chargers finished with 20 team points, 11 more than second place Cair Paravel. Marantha Christian Academy took third. It’s also the first time the Chargers have qualified all six players for the state tournament.
