Kansas State defensive coordinator Joe Klanderman leads a drill at practice Aug. 14, 2023, at Bill Snyder Family Stadium.

Kansas State will have new names at offensive and defensive coordinator when the Wildcats take the field in 2026.

According to national reports, five-year defensive coordinator Joe Klanderman and first-year offensive coordinator Matt Wells will not be returning to Manhattan to serve on new head coach Collin Klein’s inaugural staff.

According to reports from ESPN on Thursday morning, Klanderman is leaving K-State for a defensive coordinator job at Baylor under head coach Dave Aranda, while Wells is not being retained in any capacity by Klein, and his next destination is unknown as of publication.
