A fire at Marlatt Elementary on Friday caused an evacuation of the school.
According to the Manhattan Fire Department, firefighters were called to respond to a small fire at the school shortly before noon. The fire was extinguished and students were let back into the building and classes resumed. No injuries were reported.
School officials told parents through the district app that someone set the fire intentionally in a restroom trash can.
