Two Manhattan residents were arrested Thursday afternoon in separate cases involving allegations of battery against law enforcement officers.

Riley County Police say 41-year-old Mahbooba Babrakzai was arrested around 1:50 p.m. Jan. 15 in the 1000 block of South Seth Child Road. The arrest stems from a report originally filed Nov. 21, 2025, in which a 34-year-old man was listed as the victim. Babrakzai was issued a total bond of $15,000 and remained confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of the report.

In a separate case, police arrested 30-year-old Nathan Bell of Manhattan at approximately 1:25 p.m. Jan. 15 on a Riley County District Court warrant for battery of a law enforcement officer. The charge stems from a report filed Nov. 3, 2025, in which a 40-year-old man was listed as the victim. Bell was issued a total bond of $15,000 and also remained confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of the report.
