Parkside Station will close on March 15, the company publicly announced Tuesday.
The mother-daughter duo of Phyllis and Hannah Pease opened the restaurant at 1026 Poyntz Ave. two years ago but ran into unexpected challenges.
“My mom and I set out to bring delicious food, coffee, cocktails, and pastries to Manhattan,” Hannah Pease said in a statement. “I think the past 2 years we have done just that. Our hearts are breaking and we wish we could keep going. Unfortunately, we’ve been fighting since day one to keep our heads above the water. Unexpected building costs, delays, and a few other weird things like Phyllis getting hit by a car in August, and of course we’ve made plenty of mistakes, but we thought for sure we could keep fighting through. We aren’t ready to say goodbye, but here we are.”
