A St. George man was arrested Wednesday afternoon in Manhattan on a warrant alleging a violation of the Kansas Offender Registration Act.

According to the Riley County Police Department, Tayvon Nash, 26, was arrested at approximately 2:40 p.m. March 4 in the 1100 block of Moro Street on a Riley County District Court warrant. The warrant alleges Nash violated the Kansas Offender Registration Act.

Police said Nash was issued a total bond of $8,000 and is no longer confined in the Riley County Jail.

Nash also has had prior encounters with local law enforcement in recent years

In February, Nash was arrested following an incident in the 3200 block of Kimball Avenue that resulted in several felony charges, including aggravated assault, aggravated assault of a law enforcement officer, criminal discharge of a firearm, interference with a law enforcement officer, possession of stolen property, possession of marijuana and criminal possession of a weapon by a felon. At the time, police said multiple individuals were listed as victims in the case. Nash was jailed on a $40,000 bond.

In 2020, Riley County Police also reported the arrest of Nash, then 20 years old, in connection with an attempted aggravated robbery at the McDonald’s restaurant in the 800 block of North Fourth Street in Manhattan. Police said the suspect allegedly brandished a firearm and demanded money from employees. Officers listed three male victims, ages 25, 26 and 30, in that case. Agnew-Nash was arrested several hours later and remained jailed on a $200,000 bond.
