Nicholas Ellis Biddle, 21, of Wichita, was arrested at approximately 4:50 p.m. on April 14, 2026 in the 1000 block of S. Seth Child Road on a Seward County District Court warrant for involuntary manslaughter, reckless driving, maximum speed limits and failure to yield at a stop or yield sign. Biddle was issued a total bond of $50,000 and is no longer confined in the Riley County Jail.
Officers filed a report of aggravated assault at approximately 2:02 p.m. on April 14 in the 1500 block of Pillsbury Drive. A 55-year-old man and a 45-year-old man were listed as victims when it was reported a known 31-year-old man attacked them with a knife. Jose Maria Lara, 31, of Manhattan, was arrested at approximately 3:19 p.m. Lara was issued a total bond of $8,000 and remains confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of this report.
Nathaniel Avery Busby, 32, of Wamego, was arrested at approximately 3:10 p.m. on April 14 in the 1000 block of S. Seth Child Road on a Riley County District Court warrant for failure to appear, two violations of a protection order and a Manhattan Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear. This arrest stems from original charges that include domestic battery, criminal damage to property and cruelty to animals. Busby was issued a total bond of $13,500 and remains confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of this report.
Officers filed a report of vehicle theft at approximately 8:14 a.m. on April 14 in the 1500 block of Waterford Place. A 21-year-old man was listed as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect stole his red 2022 Honda Navi motorcycle. The total estimated loss associated with this case is $3,000.
