Manhattan mayor Susan Adamchak was involved in an accident with a motorcyclist Sunday afternoon, according to police reports.
Riley County police reported an injury accident at about 12:26 p.m. in the 400 block of Zeandale Road.
Officers said a 2022 Toyota Venza, driven by Adamchak, 72, of Manhattan, had crashed into a 2019 Yamaha Bolt motorcycle, ridden by Thaddues Thore, 21, of Manhattan. Adamchak said she pulled out for a left turn, and that Thore was driving at a high rate of speed. She hit the brakes and Thore hit her vehicle, taking off most of the front end of the car.
Thore was transported to Via Christi Hospital for a serious leg injury.
Police had not filed citations at press time, and they had no further information.
