Officers filed a report of theft of property or services and criminal damage to property at approximately 11 a.m. on May 24 in the 4400 block of Tuttle Creek Blvd. A 29-year-old woman was listed as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect entered the victim’s vehicle and tampered with the ignition to steal a 2019 Kia Sportage. The total estimated loss associated with this case is $14,900. The vehicle was later recovered and returned to the victim.
Officers filed a report of attempted theft or property or services and computer unlawful acts at approximately 11:16 p.m. on May 23 in the 1000 block of Hylton Heights Road. Intrust Bank was listed as the victim when it was reported unknown suspect with a mask was attempting to break into an ATM. Alexander Jose Lopez Cedeno, 18, of Chicago, was arrested at approximately 12:40 a.m. for attempted theft of property or services and computer unlawful acts. Lopez Cedeno was issued a total bond of $5,000 and remains confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of this report.

A known 61-year-old man was listed as the suspect. Robert Paul Veach, 61, of Manhattan, was arrested at approximately 2:14 p.m. for aggravated assault and criminal threat. Veach was issued a total bond of $10,000. Upon bonding out, officers filed a report for violation of a protection order at approximately 9:30 p.m. Veach was arrested at approximately 9:41 p.m. for violation of a protection order. Veach was issued a total bond of $6,000 and remains confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of this report.
