Police filed a report of an unattended death Monday morning after a man was found deceased in City Park.
The man was found before 9 a.m. in the park restroom between the splash pad play area and the playground. The area has since been cleared and a police representative said there is no threat to the public.
Riley County police officers identified the man and are working to notify a next-of-kin. The man’s death is under investigation.
The Riley County Police Department and Manhattan Parks and Recreation both requested on social media that the public continue to avoid the area of the splash pad until further notice. Swim lessons and Parks and Recreation camp proceeded as scheduled for the day.
