Manhattan man jailed on $1 million bond for probation violation

A Manhattan man was arrested Tuesday afternoon on a probation violation warrant tied to multiple drug and weapons offenses, according to authorities.

Scott Charles Marchand, 48, of Manhattan, was arrested at approximately 4 p.m. June 3 at the Riley County Law Enforcement Center.

Marchand was taken into custody on a Riley County District Court warrant for probation violation. The warrant stems from original charges that include distribution of heroin within 1,000 feet of a school, distribution of methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of a school, two counts of distribution of opiates, opium, narcotics or stimulants within 1,000 feet of a school involving 3.5 to 100 grams, distribution of opiates, opium, narcotics or stimulants involving 10 to 100 dosage units within 1,000 feet of a school, possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to distribute, manufacture, plant or cultivate, possession of heroin, possession of cannabinoids, criminal use of weapons and possession of drug paraphernalia for use in the human body.

Marchand was issued a total bond of $1 million and remains confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of this report.
