The Museum of Art + Light announced the public unveiling of its permanent digital art collection Monday, featuring more than 40 works by 18 internationally recognized digital artists.
The museum developed the collection in partnership with Iconic, and said the collection represents a significant commitment to collecting, preserving and exhibiting digital art by a contemporary art museum in the United States.
The MoA+L is the first contemporary art museum in the world to showcase immersive, digital, and permanent collections from its inception. The museum said it spans generative art, AI-assisted works, digital poetry, blockchain-native artworks, and hybrid physical-to-digital pieces, to establish a foundation for ongoing scholarship, exhibition, and public engagement with the evolving field of digital art.
