A Manhattan man’s arraignment was postponed Monday after his new defense attorney said the previous lawyer provided ineffective counsel.
Griffin Dean Day, 24, faces charges in Riley County District Court of rape, aggravated sexual battery and aggravated battery alleged to have occurred between Jan. 22 and 23. The victim in all counts is a woman born in 1972 who was incapable of giving consent because she was under the effects of drugs of alcohol and unconscious or physically powerless.
Day is held in the Riley County Jail on a $200,000 bond.
