The Riley County Police Department is investigating an attempted vehicle burglary that damaged an unmarked law enforcement vehicle in Manhattan.
Officers filed a report for attempted theft of property or services and criminal damage to property at approximately 7:07 p.m. Monday, July 20, in the 500 block of Third Street.
According to police, an unknown suspect attempted to burglarize an unmarked vehicle belonging to the Haskell County Sheriff’s Office, causing damage in the process.
No arrests have been made.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Riley County Police Department or Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Tips submitted through Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and may qualify for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
