A pilot suffered minor injuries after a crop duster crashed Monday afternoon in rural Jackson County, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at approximately 12:30 p.m. July 13 near K-9 Highway and Allen Road, about 2 miles east of Whiting.
A 1973 Botzko HP11-15 plane was flying north when it struck a communication pole while approximately 100 feet in the air. The aircraft then came to rest west of Allen Road. The plane caught fire and the pilot was able to walk to a nearby house to call for help.
The pilot was identified as David Brocklehurst, 49, of Vernon, Texas.
