David Abbott, 63, of Manhattan, was arrested at approximately 8:41 p.m. on July 16, 2026 in the 700 block of Griffth Drive on a Riley County District Court warrant for probation violation. This arrest stems from an original charge of sexual battery. Abbott was issued no bond and remains confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of this report.
Officers filed a report of distribution of marijuana, distribute/possess with intent paraphernalia/precursor/stimulant and possession of substance in KSA 65-41-5(h) at approximately 2:47 p.m. on July 16 in the 2300 block of Candlewood Drive. Rysean Alexander Parks, 26, of Manhattan, was arrested at approximately 3 p.m. for distribution of marijuana, distribute/possess with intent paraphernalia/precursor/stimulant and possession of substance in KSA 65-41-5(h). Parks was issued a total bond of $5,000 and is no longer confined in the Riley County Jail.
Officers filed a report of fraud at approximately 10:43 a.m. on July 16 in the 8900 block of Fairview Church Road. A 43-year-old woman was listed as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect posed as a known vendor to receive a wife transfer. The total estimated loss associated with this case is $33,092.88.
Officers filed a report for aggravated battery at approximately 1:50 a.m. on July 11 in the 1200 block of Moro Street. A 25-year-old man was listed as the victim when it was reported an unknown male suspect battered him in an alley during an altercation. Riley Michael Williams, 21, of Fort Riley, was arrested at approximately 9:30 a.m. on July 16 in the 1000 block of S. Seth Child Road for aggravated battery. Williams was issued a total bond of $20,000 and is no longer confined in the Riley County Jail.
