 Officers filed a report of theft of property or services at approximately 1:50 p.m. on July 19, 2026 in the 2100 block of Northview Drive. A 37-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman were listed as victims when it was reported an unknown suspect stole a 2008 Chevy Silverado truck. The total estimated loss associated with this case was $8,000. The vehicle has since been recovered.

Officers filed a report of theft of property or services at approximately 9:54 a.m. on July 19 in the 700 block of Highland Ridge Drive. A 75-year-old woman was listed as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect stole a 2015 Hyundai Sonata. The total estimated loss associated with this case was $6,000. The vehicle has since been recovered.

Officers filed a report of abuse of a child at approximately 7:37 p.m. on July 19 in Manhattan. An 8-year-old female was listed as the victim. A known 26-year-old male was listed as the suspect. David Joshua Breeden, 26, of Manhattan, was arrested at approximately 8:50 p.m. for abuse of a child. Breeden was issued a total bond of $100,000 and remains confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of this report.

Officers filed a report for four counts of battery of a law enforcement officer, one count criminal trespass and one count of interference with a law enforcement officer at approximately 12:56 a.m. on July 19 in the 1200 block of Moro Street. Listed victims include a 43-year-old man, 36-year-old man, 26-year-old man and a 34-year-old man. A 19-year-old woman was listed as the suspect. Kaitlin Rae Kendig, 19, of Manhattan, was arrested at approximately 12:59 a.m. for four counts of battery of a law enforcement officer, one count of interference with a law enforcement officer and one count of criminal trespass. Kendig was issued a total bond of $5,000 and is no longer confined in the Riley County Jail.

Officers responded to a report of an injury accident at approximately 3:36 p.m. on July 17 near Kimball Avenue and Little Kitten Avenue. Upon arrival, officers found a 2015 Toyota Camry, driven by Anthony Baker, 30, of Manhattan, had crashed into a 2025 Suzuki NPR, driven by Jason Houck, 23, of Wamego. Uriel Venegas, 23, of Manhattan, was a passenger in the Suzuki. Baker was transported to Via Christi Hospital for injuries and issued a citation for failing to yield the right of way at a stop sign.

Officers filed a report of 10 counts of violating Riley County District Court protection orders at approximately 8:04 a.m. on July 17 in the 1000 block of S. Seth Child Road. Joshua Keith Downey, 30, of Manhattan, was arrested for 10 counts of violating Riley County District Court protection orders at approximately 10:55 a.m. Downey was issued a total bond of $10,000 and remains confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of this report.
