This arrest stems from original charges of aggravated battery, interference with a law enforcement officer, flee and elude, leaving the scene, and DUI. Jayla Marie Ragin, 19, of Manhattan, was arrested at approximately 4:20 p.m. on July 26 in near Claflin and Westport Drive on a United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri for three counts of assault on a federal officer, one count of assault on a federal officer causing bodily injury and one count of depredation to government property. Ragin was issued no bond and remains confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of this release.

A 28-year-old woman was listed as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect used a local spoofed number to impersonate an RCPD officer and threaten immediate arrest for missed court dates unless they make payments via Chime barcodes at a retail store.
