Officers filed a report of burglary, criminal damage to property and attempted theft of property or services at approximately 3:07 p.m. on July 5, 2026 in the 4400 block of Tuttle Creek Blvd. A 28-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man were listed as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect damaged the steering column of a 2015 Kia Sportage while attempted to steal the vehicle. Randy Acevedo, 32, of Manhattan, was arrested at approximately 12:01 a.m. on July 5 in the 1100 block of Moro Street on a Riley County District Court warrant for failure to appear. This arrest stems from original charges of interference with a law enforcement officer, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of THC, flee and elude, no driver’s license and speeding. Acevedo was issued a total bond of $6,000 and is no longer confined in the Riley County Jail.
Officers filed a report of aggravated assault at approximately 7:36 a.m. on July 2 in the 800 block of N. 4th Street. A 51-year-old man was listed as the victim when it was reported a known 65-year-old male suspect brandished and approached the victim with a machete. Russell Royal Springer, 65, of Manhattan, was arrested at approximately 6:54 p.m. on July 4 in the 400 block of Fort Riley Blvd. for aggravated assault. During the arrest, Springer was also charged with aggravated battery of a law enforcement officer and possession of marijuana. A 34-year-old man was listed as the victim in that incident when it was reported Springer drove his vehicle into a patrol vehicle. Springer was issued a total bond of $30,000 and remains confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of this report.
Officers filed a report for lewd and lascivious conduct at approximately 2:56 p.m. on June 3 in the 200 block of Springboard Lane. Douglas Michael Bierly, 25, of Manhattan, was arrested at approximately 3:02 p.m. in the 200 block of Springboard Lane for lewd and lascivious conduct. Bierly was issued a total bond of $8,000 and is no longer confined in the Riley County Jail.
Officers filed a report of burglary and contributing to child misconduct at approximately 2:28 p.m. on July 3 in the 2500 block of Farm Bureau Road. Redbud Estates was listed as the victim when it was reported a known 27-year-old female suspect illegally entered a unit and stole various items, including pets. Sarah Elizabeth Fisher, 27, of Manhattan, was arrested at approximately 3:27 p.m. for burglary and contributing to child misconduct in the 2500 block of Farm Bureau Road. Fisher was issued a total bond of $50,000 and remains confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of this report.

Alfred Glenn Walls, 29, of Wamego, was arrested at approximately 8:13 p.m. on July 2 in the 1000 block of S. Seth Child Road on a Riley County District Court warrant for probation violation. This arrest stems from an original charge of violating a protection order. Walls was issued no bond and remains confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of this report.
Officers filed a report for 597 counts of violating a Riley County District Court protection order at approximately 11:20 a.m. on June 28 in the 1000 block of S. Seth Child Road. Sylvester Terrell Broughton, 48, of Manhattan, was arrested at approximately 4:05 p.m. on July 2 on 597 counts of violating a protection order in the 1000 block of S. Seth Child Road. Broughton was issued a total bond of $70,000 and remains confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of this report.
