The Riley County Commission on Monday heard plans for the 2027 health department budget, including eliminating a clerk position.
Brittany Phillips, budget and finance officer, along with David Adams, interim Riley County Health Department director, presented a funding overview to commissioners including all grants that the department gets through organizations like the Greater Manhattan Community Foundation and the Memorial Hospital Association.
Phillips declined to speak to any specifics on the department’s reorganization, and said director of human resources Elizabeth Ward will present that information after she returns next week from a business trip.
