The Riley County Police Department is investigating two vehicle thefts reported Sunday in Manhattan after both stolen vehicles were recovered.
The first theft was reported just before 10 a.m. July 19 in the 700 block of Highland Ridge Drive. A 75-year-old woman told officers an unknown suspect stole her 2015 Hyundai Sonata. Police estimated the loss at $6,000.
Later that day, just before 2 p.m., officers responded to the 2100 block of Northview Drive, where a 37-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman reported that an unknown suspect had stolen a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado. The estimated loss in that case was $8,000.
Police said both vehicles have since been recovered.
