Manhattan city commissioners on Tuesday will vote on agreements for Manhattan Regional Airport’s taxiway alpha project and a program grant with the Kansas Department of Transportation for a pavement restoration project.
Actions in the taxiway project’s vote include accepting grant agreements from the Federal Aviation Administration for nearly $15 million, approve a task order with Olsson Inc. for $1,474,700, award a construction contract for nearly $13 million with Clarkson Construction Co. and repeal a prior resolution for the project.
Taxiway alpha is the airport’s primary taxiway and runs parallel to Runway 03-21. Officials said it is a critical component of airfield operations, allowing aircraft to taxi safely and efficiently for arrivals and departures, and needs replacement.
