Officers filed a report for criminal threat at approximately at 3:33 p.m. on Aug. 24, 2026 in the 400 block Leavenworth Street. A 27-year-old woman was listed as the victim. A 49-year-old man, known to the victim, was listed as the suspect when it was reported he made threats to harm others. Marcus Edward Dobson, 49, of Manhattan, was arrested at approximately 3:53 p.m. for criminal threat. Dobson was issued a total bond of $8,000 and remains confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of this report.
Officers filed a report for two counts of battery of a law enforcement officer; city/county officer/employee on duty and two counts of battery of a law enforcement officer; physical contact with county or city officer on duty at approximately 1:39 p.m. on Aug. 24 in the 100 block of Courthouse Plaza. Listed victims included a 56-year-old man, a 49-year-old man, a 68-year-old man and a 47-year-old man. A 35-year-old man was listed as the suspect. Nicolus Allen Weiss, 35, of Manhattan, was arrested at approximately 1:40 p.m. for two counts of battery of a law enforcement officer; city/county officer/employee on duty and two counts of battery of a law enforcement officer; physical contact with county or city officer on duty. Officers then filed a report for three counts of battery of a law enforcement officer; city/county officer/employee on duty at approximately 3:48 p.m. in the 1000 block of S. Seth Child Road. Listed victims included a 43-year-old man, a 47-year-old man and a 38-year-old man. Weis was arrested at approximately 3:50 p.m. for three counts of battery of a law enforcement officer; city/county officer/employee on duty. Weis was issued a total bond of $106,000 – for both arrests – and remains confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of this report.
