A Manhattan man will serve two years of probation following a sentencing hearing on Monday in Riley County District Court. Jaron Anthony Taitano, 38, pleaded guilty on Aug. 6 to aggravated endangering of a child and aggravated battery, both against a child born in 2013, as well as one count of domestic battery against a person born in 1992.
The crimes took place on June 13, 2025.
In return for his guilty plea, state prosecutors dropped five remaining charges against him and both the state and defense recommended the presumption of probation for sentencing.
