A 27-year-old Manhattan woman was arrested Monday night after police said she called 911 16 times without reporting an emergency.
Riley County Police said Tantaliyah Parson was reported to have repeatedly called 911 using a phone that did not belong to her, remaining silent during each call. Police said no emergency was reported when officers responded to the area.
Officers attempted to issue Parson a notice to appear, but police said she refused to sign the citations and resisted when officers attempted to take her into custody.
Parson was arrested at about 9 p.m. in the 200 block of North Juliette Avenue on allegations of harassment by telecommunications device, transmitting or communicating false information to request emergency service assistance and interference with a law enforcement officer.
Parson was issued a $5,000 bond and remained confined at the time of the report.
