MHS football falls to 0-2 after 21-7 loss at Mill Valley

SHAWNEE — In a battle between two of Kansas’ best high school programs in recent years, Mill Valley proved too much to handle on its home field Friday night, sending Manhattan High football to its first 0-2 start in the Joe Schartz era with a 21-7 win.

“It’s really important how we respond to this, especially in our actions and our words,” Schartz said. “The next 24 to 48 hours are really going to determine whether or not we end up losers or being successful this season. Nobody likes losing, and but we have to keep this in perspective: We played two really good football teams, and we were right there.”
