A 17-year-old Wamego teen was killed early Sunday in a UTV crash northeast of Wamego that also left another passenger with minor injuries.
The Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office identified the passenger who died as Dylan Higgins, 17, of Wamego. The driver, Harry Costa, 18, of Wamego, was not injured. A second passenger, Emily Crocker, 16, of Wamego, sustained minor injuries and was not transported by EMS.
The crash was reported at about 12:50 a.m. near Old Post Road and Genn Road. Authorities said the UTV was traveling eastbound on Old Post Road when Costa attempted to turn south onto Genn Road and lost control.
Higgins was ejected from the UTV and pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
