John Keith Swartz, 55, of Manhattan, was arrested at approximately 3:22 p.m. on Sept. 29, 2026 in the 1000 block of S. Seth Child Road on a Riley County District Court warrant for probation violation. This arrest stems from original charges of possession of methamphetamine and battery. Swartz was issued no bond and remains confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of this report.
Joshua Edward Stepney, 37, of Manhattan, was arrested at approximately 1:10 p.m. on Sept. 29 in the 200 block of Tuttle Creek Blvd. on a Kansas Department of Corrections warrant for parole violation. Stepney was issued no bond and remains confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of this report.
Officers filed a report for assault of a law enforcement officer, interference with a law enforcement officer and battery at approximately 9:46 p.m. on Sept. 28 in Manhattan. Listed victims included a 46-year-old female, a 24-year-old male, an 18-year-old female, and a 15-year-old male. An 18-year-old male, known to two of the victims, was listed as the suspect. Daniel Mendonca De Araujo, 18, of Manhattan, was arrested at approximately 9:50 p.m. on Sept. 28 for assault of a law enforcement officer, interference with a law enforcement officer and battery. De Araujo was issued a total bond of $5,000 and is no longer confined in the Riley County Jail.
Officers filed a report for two counts of battery of a law enforcement officer at approximately 1:29 p.m. on Sept. 28 in the 1000 block of S. Seth Child Road. A 23-year-old female and a 49-year-old male were listed as victims. A 31-year-old woman was listed as the suspect. Michelle Danielle Wolfe, 31, of Manhattan, was arrested at approximately 2 p.m. for two counts of battery of a law enforcement officer. Wolfe was issued a total bond of $10,000 and remains confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of this report.
