A Manhattan man entered a plea deal with state prosecutors Thursday morning, before his trial scheduled to start the same day began.
Jose Maria Lara, 31, pleaded guilty to one count of criminal threat. In return for his plea, Lara’s remaining two charges of aggravated assault with a knife were dropped by the prosecution.
Lara now is scheduled for sentencing in his case on Nov. 2.
