Wamego football closed the regular season with a hard-fought 22-20 victory over Jefferson West on Friday night, finishing 6-1 under coach Weston Moody and earning home-field advantage with the No. 2 seed for the Class 4A playoffs.
The Red Raiders bounced back from a heartbreaking 41-40 loss to Mulvane by winning their final three games, including victories over tough opponents in Hesston and Jefferson West. Wamego’s only regular-season loss came against Mulvane.
